SNG Trip : Day 1 - Singapore Zoo and Night Safari

We are back from our four day family vacation from Singapore. We enjoyed the trip so much, in fact it was our first family trip in Singapore ...with no work. We were able to tour the city and enjoy the best attractions.

Day 1: We left Manila early morning to catch the 630am PAL flight. By noon, we already got our room from Peninsula Singapore, near City Hall MRT. We were lucky as we had a lovely view of the Singapore River.

By 3pm, we trooped to Singapore Zoo as we wanted to bring Samantha and see the animals. We also learned from our cabbie driver that the zoo has a new animal attraction, the polar bear from Canada. Hmmm... something to look forward to as we've never seen a polar bear up close and personal.

After enjoying the animals in daylight, we then continued our trip at Night Safari to enjoy the animals during night time. The Night safari opens at 7pm and it was just convenient for us as we just finished our zoo trip by 6pm. As the night safari still close, we then decided to have early dinner at KFC inside the zoo area as we were hungry from all the long walks we had. I was so hungry that time and I think I ate so much. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my diet pill on the trip. Too bad. But nevertheless, diet or no diet, I need all the energy for our trip.

Chanel sunnies

Just received a fab gift from the husband, this time Chanel sunnies. I am supposed to buy this sunglasses for myself from our recent vacation in Singapore last month, but failed due to some last minute change of plans. Good thing that the husband flew the next day to Bangkok, and he got me the sunnies instead at Chanel Siam Paragon. And instead of just buying it for me ... he bought and paid for it, and gave it to me as a gift. Weeee!! Happy, happy! Think this is the best plan to get something from your husband unexpectedly! LOL.

Anyway, as a token of appreciation for the husband's surprise gift, I promised him that the money I am supposed to use for my Chanel sunnies will go directly to our health savings account. You see, we've already established a health fund in case of emergencies in the family. Though the kids not sickies at all, it is still best to have something saved for the family's use. It was the husband's idea, and I think the best gift for the family :)

i want one.

It's the latest craze in the techie world now. The Apple iPad. All the hype as it was initally launched by Apple. People are going crazy with this new toy. It has the functionality just like your iphone and laptops and more. Though it is not designed to replace the compter, instead it was designed to make tasks much easier.

As I told the husband, I am thinking of getting one for myself. As a birthday pressy. Since, I am always mobile and on the go, the iPad would be a perfect gadget for me. It will be easy for me to blog, twit, chat, surf the web and exchange emails efficiently. I am a non-techie person but I guess the basic functionality I need can be found on the iPad. No complicated tasks such as video editing and the works, thus the iPad may serve its purpose foran end-user like me ... simply to entertain me. This may be in the form of video, music, photos, game applications or by simply web browsing ... it was created to keep my life easier. Hence, a MUST for me.
Oh it's not a cheap toy by the way, selling price at $499. With this price, I expect more from the services. After sales is non-negotiable, as well as ipad warranty to cover any possible product defect. Now I am not sure about service reviews. The prodct may be excellent, but if it has poor service ... a different story for me. But for now, allow me to dream of getting one for myself. Tee-hee!!

cam upgrade

The husband is now convinced to get a new gadget for the family, an upgrade from our old point-and-shoot cam, --- a DSLR. After our short Singapore trip visit last week, he's decided to go PRO for our pictures. He was convinced that he can capture the best shots and provide good resolution with the SLR camera. He told me to search the best SLR deal available in the market, and happy to say I've found the right cam for us through best buy . Nikon D40 Digital SLR perfect for beginners like us. Easy to operate and convenient to use. It's the smallest SLR camera ever of Nikon, at a little over 16 ounces. With instant shutter response, 2.5 inch LCD monitor at 6.1 megapixel resolution. Simply perfect. And the price, awesome deal a little over $500 USD. Think the husband will approve this one, fits just right in our budget for cam upgrade.

birthday thanks!

Yes, it's my birthday today ... I am another year older, wiser, and more grateful. And I thank the Lord for giving me another year, another year to be productive at work, to share my life, spread love and laughter to others.

Thank you Lord for all the blessings ... you've given me so much, and I can't thank you enough. For my family, my loving husband, sweet and adorable kids, my fun work, thoughtful friends and colleagues ... thank you!

Thank you for all the birthday greetings sent via text, twitter, FB and email. Really appreciate it all. I guess I have to say BIG thanks to the internet, particularly the social networking sites like FB, you made remembering birthday's very easy, easy to connect and touch other people. Anyway, your simple birthday greetings, made my day really special.

Again, thank you so much!

clothes shopping

It's my birthday tomorrow! And I am thinking of celebrating my natal day with a big bang. And that would mean only one thing, a day filled with fun and excitement ... shopping! As a treat, I am thinking of getting some new accessories, new shoes and of course, nice clothes to add my wardrobe. A good pair of jeans, some working clothes for corporate functions are on my top priority list. And if budget still permits, perhaps get few urban clothes too for my everyday use. Really excited! Now I am just waiting for the husband to give me my budget moolah for my shopping. Hoping he will be overly-generous today. Tee-hee!

Another LV Delight-ful!

I am supposed to research about asbestos mesothelioma for my aunt, when I got distracted from the LV alert I received from my friend, Beng.
Introducing, the Louis Vuitton Delightful in Monogram Canvass released June 2010. My friend told me that the bag is already available in Guam, and I think it can now be found on the LV website. The price is quite a steal, almost same price as the Neverfull series. But the design, it's like a combination of LV's recently launched artsy in hobo shape with the size of Neverfull.
And since I already own a NF bag, I am thinking of getting the GM size as I love zippers! Sadly, only the GM size has the zippers infront, which gives the distinct style of Delighful. Oh well, still thinking. I want to see the GM size IRL first, it may be big for my size. Anyway, since I am off to SNG next weekend, I hope I can find the bag here for actual fitting (*wink, wink*). Keep you all posted.
