monthly expenses

Snagged this tag from Jane and Aggie. I think this tag originated from a very famous post from our N@W group.

Just to share. Since both of us are working our financial set up is very simple. Hubby pays for almost everything ie: monthly utilities and amortization, and I get to share on groceries, wet market and other non-essential/luxury items ie: gifts for birthdays, buying PS3 toy for the kids, getting new clothes, travel plans, spa treat etc. We have our joint-account for our common savings and we both have our own savings account.

From the very start of our marriage, I never obliged hubby to entrust his ATM/salary to me. He gives me monthly fixed amount for all the expenses and amortization. While hubby never asks for my salary. Hehehe! If I want to buy something, either I use my money or get it from our common fund. If common fund, gift na yon sa akin! Hahaha!

How many sq meters is your place, and how many people live there?
We have a 190 sqm (FA) house standing on an 140 sqm lot (LA). The four of us lives here - Hubby, Sam, Ico (every 15-days of the month) and I with 1 yaya and 1 helper.

our home sweet home

How much is your electricity bill? Water? Association dues?
Electricity : P5K-6K per month --- depending if Ico stays with us.
Water : P500
Association Dues - P200 a month

Other fixed expenses? ( around P37K monthly)

Cable: SkyCable P1,050
Fuel/Gas : Mike P4K, Jacqui P4K
LPG : P680

Ico's daily allowance : P2,000 (P100/day)
Groceries: P7K --- including yaya's snacks, shampoo and soap
Wet Market: P6K

Other budget expenses:
Mike's office meal allowance : P5K per month
Jacqui's office meal allowance : P4k per month

Company provided:
Mobile Phone Plans : P5K for Mike ; P1,200 for me; Bayan wireless landline : P399

Other payables: around P60K + monthly
House amortization ; Car amortization ; Insurance

Doing this tag made me realize one thing ... waaahhh!!! ang hirap na ng buhay, kelangan mag-tipid na!!!

jacqui! haha diba when you look at the figures, parang whaaaaat?!?!?! iba pala when you put it in writing hahaha. well, atleast thats what i felt.

anyway, na curious lang ako. ang mura ng drinkign water ninyo. halos lahat kayo nabasa ko. bakit kami 1550? sobrang lakas yata namin mag water haha. ito ba yung 40pesos per 5 gallons? tapos yung maid mo na 2.5 she does everything na din? cook, clean and laundry? if so, wow ang mura!!! swerte mo!

hi jane,

totally agree with you. madami pa nga non-fixed items na din natin napapansin pero gastos pa din like materials you need to buy for school projects.

early last year, naka-excel pa ako tracking down our expenses. but when I noticed pataas ng pataas and pa-dagdag house expense, napagod na ako! na-depress lang ako to do it sa mahal ng bilihin. hahaha!

re: drinking water, yes this is the bottled water. Pero I think mas mura yun sa amin. We get it here from Crystal Clear at P35/5-gallons or bulk order P100 for every 3x5-gallons. Since both of us working, sam and helpers lang naiwan. So most of the time, wala masyado nag-consume ng drinking water sa house. Hehehe! Pero dear, ang mahal nga sa inyo ha! :)

Re: maid. yes mura sya P2.5K salary. Ito yun starting salary sa amin. After one year, P3K na sya. Bago pa lang ito househelp namin. She does laundry, ironing and general cleaning. Si yaya nag-cook and cleans the 2/F house. Tulungan sila. I think kaya madali lang din work, I give them schedules. Like laundry day Wed and Sat. Iron day, Tues and Fri. Mas tipid pati electricity if may designated days lang. :)
