Bangkok Trip : Day 1

We took the morning flight last Thursday for Bangkok via PAL. Our flight was initially scheduled at 1030am but the flight was delayed for an hour. For some unknown reason, we need to wait the plane from Cebu to take us to Bangkok. Anyway, by 1130am we were already on our way to Bangkok.

while waiting at the NAIA airport and on baord the PAL airbus A330 plane

After three hours and a movie from in-flight services of PAL, we arrived at Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Bangkok immigration process went like a breeze. With more than twenty immigration counters, lining up and entering BKK was not difficult at all. The airport was sooo huge that I got so envious how efficient and how they maximized the layout of the airport. I just noticed most of the tourists here either Europeans or Indians. Few Koreans and Chinese, but mostly white people around. Tourism Industry in BKK must be doing well.
goofing around the BKK airport

From the airport we were brought to our hotel, Baiyoke Suites. The drive to our hotel took us around 45 minutes including the traffic experienced in the key cities. It was conveniently situated near the Pratunam area, one of the famous bargain haven for shoppers. It was clean, spacious and really nice with friendly and very accommodating staff. Though the hotel quite old, but the room was really spacious. 2 bedroom suite talaga! Hahaha! For the package price we paid for 4 days and 3 nights, including breakfast buffet, really worth it!

at the streets of Bangkok. Enjoying the spicy grilled squid... Yummy!

another street food treat: grilled pork barbecue, pork intestines and pork sausages at THB 10 each. Can't pass up the chance of eating the famous BKK street food. -- don't we just love to eat street food? Hehehe!

We strolled the streets of Petchaburi Road (main road with Pantip and Platinum Mall) and bought almost all the street food we saw. From grilled food, sliced fruits, shakes, veggies, corn etc ... all the food you can think of, it was available. We wanted to try everything but of course too risky! It's just our first day at BKK. We don't want to have a bad stomach on our first day. Anyway, after few hours, we got tired and had dinner at Coco Walk. This place offers a very sumptous buffet dinner at THB100 per person (P148/pax). Really cheap, huh?! The husband and I enjoyed it sooo much. Our first taste of BKK full-meal ... an eat-all-you-can buffet grilled barbecue. The food selection includes beef, pork, chicken, squid, fish, sausages etc marinated in different sauces. Sweet, semi-sweet and spicy marinade. With veggies, rice and noodles to enjoy. For dessert, unlimited sweetened nata and jellies topped with shaved ice.

And guess who joined us for dinner... the baby elephant from nowhere! LOL. For THB20 you can feed the elephant with sugarcane.
After the sumptous meal, we went back to our hotel around 10pm. Happy and very much satisfied with our dinner buffet. Despite having sore feet for walking more than 2km from Coco Walk back to our hotel (yes, we did'nt bother taking the tuktuk ride), so far...so good. We were happy with our first day in BKK.
Anyway, armed with our good old Sony idiot camera and new compact flash memory I purchased online, more pictures by Day 2 in Bangkok.

back from the trip

We are sooo back! After four days in Bangkok, the husband and I arrived last night. Lots of Bangkok pictures and stories to share but I guess all these can wait. We are swamped with so much work. With over 300+ email to read and respond, back to back meetings to attend, and a couple of reports to finish, need more time. Actually, I think I need another vacation after this vacation. LOL.

Anyway, be back with all the Bangkok post later. For the meantime, need to help the aunt to find nutritious recipe for her patients with Mesothelioma cases. I was told that giving nutritious and healthy food options under Mesothelioma treatments can help maximize energy, stave off infection and provide strength to patients.
So off to blogging for now, back to work and to corporate reality.

three more days ...

...and we are off to Bangkok.

I am busy as a bee preparing for our travel itinerary. Usually, my travel itinerary already prepared weeks in advance. But since I am so busy with work lately, I am on a last-minute panic mode. Hah! Never felt so harassed with work lately. I really deserve complete R&R with the husband. Oh did I mention that aside from getting the best travel deals , this trip would also be our valentine's cum wedding anniversary treat? Double purpose celebration eh?! The upcoming trip would just be me and the husband. No kids this time. Though we would like to bring the little girl along, but I am not sure what to expect in Bangkok. My friends suggested it would be difficult to tour the scenic places of Thailand with a kid in tow especially if we want to do some clubbing. Or visit the famous gay and adult shows in Patpong. Kinky shows huh?! LOL.
Anyway, off to preparing our travel itinerary now. Hopefully by tomorrow I can come up with a strategic travel plan for hubby and I. Wish me luck.

heart's day surprise

Got a surprise from the husband yesterday. As I stepped out from the conference room, I was greeted by our company guard with a lovely bouquet of white roses. I was totally surprised. A day before the heart's day I already received my flowers. Aaaww...really sweet! It's been quite sometime since I received a flower delivery from the husband at the office. And this time, it was a day early pa. LOL. (pardon the pix, think I didn't do any justice capturing the beauty of the roses. hehehe! )

note: eversince hubby and I became a couple, I always receive bouquet of white roses from him. no other color, just white roses.

Aside from the flowers early that day, he went home with sweet yummy treats from Conti's. Was really happy...he remembered how I craved for strawberry cake weeks, weeks ago. And he surprised me by getting me not only strawberry shortcake from Conti's but, with blueberry cheesecake too! Hahaha! Ain't that really sweet! Now you know how the husband encourages my sweet cravings, and why I gained so much weight for the past years. Primary reason why I am seeking for an effective weight loss products on the web.

the oh-so-yummy blueberry cheesecake

deliciously-creamy strawberry shortcake -- of course, I can't wait to dig in! LOL

surprise! surpise!

The husband was indeed surprise with his birthday gift. And all along he thought it was a new mobile phone. An Apple iphone or Nokia communicator perhaps. But he was dead wrong ... he underestimated my capability. Hah! And now he was more than pleased with the surprise gift. He was truly ecstatic! LOL.

To my dear husband: this is my birthday, valentine's, anniversary, christmas and new year's gift X 3 (in years). Now top that ... 'coz I don't think I can top myself next time. Hehehe! I love you so much!

the gift: automatic omega seamaster

And now you know why I am on a "purse ban" for three years ... hehehe! Since I've almost depleted my bank account with this gift, I think I need to learn the art of scrapbooking soon. I need to save up again before I can buy any big item for my loved ones and myself.

weekend duties

The husband woke up early today and suprisingly was in the mood to do some "odd job" in the house. For starters, he accompanied me this morning in my usual weekend market. Something he haven't done for quite some time now. Hehehe! Actually his main purpose in joining me at the wet market was to buy food for his "inuman party" tonight. This will be his post-birthday celebration for his friends here in Pasig.
And since he woke up early with a good mood, he promised to complete all his pending "house job" this weekend. I've listed some of his pending to do items and I was able to come up with nine tasks for the husband.
1. replace light bulb in the master's bathroom.
2. replace light bulb in the maid's room.
3. fix the faucet in the laundry area. Get Delta faucet this time to ensure durability and will stand wear and tear .
4. fix the cable wiring of our modem and wifi router.
5. put the new village sticker on the cars.
6. change the kitchen door locks.
7. save Samantha's school pictures in CD as requested by teacher.
8. send an email to his friend based in Bangkok for our upcoming trip. Need travel info asap.
9. bring his watch at Lucerne Shangrila for re-sizing of strap/bracelet.
Most of the items above been pending for weeks now, and I hope (and pray) he'll be able to finish all of these this weekend. Otherwise I'll be forced to nag him again to get all of these things done. Very bad wifey. Hehehe!
